Venus to make final trip for the century

Astronomy Transits of Venus are among the rarest of astronomical phenomena.

Venus will pass directly between the sun and the earth, on June 6th 2012.

On June 6, Indians will be able to witness a spectacle called the ‘transit of Venus’. This is the last transit that Venus will make for this century...the next one will only be visible in the year 2117.

Transits of Venus are among the rarest of predictable astronomical phenomena. They occur in a pattern that repeats every 243 years, with the pairs of transits eight years apart separated by long gaps of 121.5 years and 105.5 years.

The transit of Venus occurs when Venus passes directly between the sun and the earth and obscures a small portion of the solar disk. While this is much like a solar eclipse, Venus, which is almost four times the size of the moon, appears smaller and moves more slowly across the face of the sun, as it is much farther away from the earth. Venus will be seen as a small black disc moving across the sun.

Venus is shrouded in mystery and astrologically has a huge impact on you. Venus rules the arts, wealth and material bliss. At the same time, Venus is a teacher. He holds the secrets of manifestation and the mysteries of the life and death process. Venus has a deep connection with all Goddesses and is indicative of Kundalini and Sexuality.

• This rare transit of Venus will bring good fortune and benefits to all. The following Moon Signs will benefit the most: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
• People can overcome/remove a lot of Karmas and Doshas (Sins, Curses) on this day. On June 6th IST obtain the blessings and guidance of a Spiritual Guru.
• People who develop new friendships on transition day will be immensely benefited. They will be blessed to obtain help and support from their new friends.

This is not a day to go on spiritual retreat. Make sure you get out of the house and meet people, attend a network business function.

The entire transit of Venus will be visible from eastern Asia, eastern Australia, north western North America, the Arctic and North Pacific Ocean. While unfortunately the beginning of the event will not be visible in India as it will begin before sunrise, the last two phases of transit can be seen for about 17 minutes comfortably. This is one of the most rare and exciting celestial events. There are four phases during a transit: two at the start (ingress) and two at the finish (egress).

The safest way to observe a transit is to project the image of the sun through a telescope, binoculars, or pinhole onto a screen,.

Major Planetary Transit - June 6th, 2011

Rahu and Ketu Move into Scorpio and Taurus Respectively

The Snake Planets Rahu and Ketu

Unlike the other planets, Rahu and Ketu travel in a counter-clockwise direction over the natal charts spending around 1-2 years in each of the signs. This year, they are changing signs or making a transit commencing on June 6, 2011. Rahu is shifting from Sagittarius into Scorpio, while Ketu is moving from Gemini into Taurus where they will remain for the next 18 months.

Major transits like these can give us interesting insights about our future. Results can range from aggravation to atonement depending on the individual's chart - where your other planets are placed - and predictions from our expert astrologers. However, Rahu and Ketu can bring positive or negative effects on your life completely dependent upon their positions in your birth chart.

Rahu and Ketu are unique in the sense that they always appear in the chart in a retrograde direction. Both of them contain key clues about your karma from previous lives as well as important issues for you to work on in this one.

The effect of this upcoming transit depends on how we respond to both favorable and unfavorable situations as there is always a free will.

Rahu has a positive side and can offer great boons in communication, innovative ideas, new inventions and improved technology. Ketu is sometimes called the saintly planet as Ketu can help push us to be motivated for spiritual liberation. Rahu can help make us extroverted, affirming and ambitious, while Ketu's influence can push us to be more introverted or detached. However, both Rahu and Ketu can have a poisonous side as well and their malefic energies are dreaded as Rahu can trigger out of control behaviors such as addiction, and Ketu can make material comforts evaporate.

Rahu's transits show where someone is likely to expand, become driven, try new things and disperse their energy into materialistic pursuits. Wherever Rahu is in your birth chart is an area you may have avoided in your recent past lives, and it is an area you may have to work on this lifetime.

Ketu's transits shows where someone is likely to experience restriction, detachment, completion or focus and deepen their spiritual pursuits. Wherever Ketu is in your birth chart may be a place you have felt more comfortable in past lives and may be where you naturally wish to focus again now. However, you must first deal with the lessons of Rahu before the fruits of Ketu can open.

One further note, if either Rahu or Ketu are your current major or minor planetary influences (called Dasha/Bhukti), a home remedy of lighting lemon lamps during Rahu periods or anytime on Sundays, Tuesdays or Fridays can be done.

Preparing Your Lemon Lamps

1. Cut a lemon in half - cross section, not end to end

2. Squish out the juice with your fingers, and remove most of the pulp

3. Very carefully so as not to tear the outer rind, turn the halves inside out so that the outside rind is cupped and the fleshy part is on the outside.

4. Fill the lemon cup with ghee or lamp oil

5. Place a cotton wick in the cup like you would for a ghee lamp

6. You have a lemon lamp!

Make as many as you like. Only burn once and then toss away.

A transit period is an excellent time for everyone to send these planetary beings some love and respect!

The good and bad of Rahu's transit in Sagittarius

The planet 'Rahu' has always been misunderstood by people who know very little about the basics of astrology. At times, Rahu delivers very good effects but there are times when the effects of a Rahu transit can be devastating. The effects depend on various other factors as well. Here we shall see how Rahu transit in Sagittarius will affect the Sagittarius, the society, and India.

A few facts about Rahu:

Rahu is a shadowy planet and it always moves in a retrograde manner. It revolves around the Sun at a rate of 3 degree, 10 minutes and 48 seconds a day.

Rahu completes it's transit in a Rashi in 1 year 6 month and 18 days. Thus, it completes transiting through the 12 Rashis or 27 constellations in 18 years 7 months and 18 days.

The transition of Rahu in a Nakshatra or birth star takes 8 month and 19 days and it completes one phase of a Nakshatra in 2 months and 3 days.

Debilitated Rahu has transited into Sagittarius at 12:09 pm on 17th November, 2009. It will stay in the same Rashi till 5th June, 2011. Rahu's transit into Sagittarius is also known as 'Sagittarius in Nawmansh'.

What Saturn is up to this September?

Saturn moves into Virgo on September 9th 2009 (for the world) and September 26th (for India) and will stay there till November 15th, 2011. Both are powerful days for Lord Saturn and will bring significant impact on the functioning of the world.

Saturn is the most feared of all planets. During his transit he puts those who come under his influence through trials and tribulations. Even people who had been successful all along suffer significantly during their Saturn period.

Saturn is not meant to inflict purposeless painful experiences. It teaches you to become closer to your higher source and be more compassionate and humble, by putting through difficult trials. Its in our darkest moments, that we either become more grateful or considerably depressed for what has happened to us.

Saturn is like a surgeon who surgically removes the tumors of our souls. No doubt surgery is painful, but it is also necessary to remove the hardships that are blocking our true fulfillment.

In India Lord Hanuman is considered to be a guardian angel. He is a true epitome of devotion and dedication. Lord Hanuman or Anjaneya is the eleventh Rudra and is a divine incarnation of  Lord Shiva. Lord Hanuman is a symbol of strength and resolve. He is ever present in this earth plane and is often referred to as 'Chiranjeevi' or 'the immortal one'.

Lord Hanuman wields considerable influence over the planet Saturn, dreaded by everyone. Symbolically Hanuman has such power that he holds Saturn with his tail. Those who are in the Saturn Seven and half year period called as Sade Sati will find immense relief praying to Lord Hanuman on the Saturn transit day.

There are 3 vitally important action steps you need to do when a planet as powerful as Saturn transits one constellation to another.

First, understand how the transit will impact you.

Second, you should ensure you have the proper energetic empowerment to handle the changing energy of Saturn.

Finally, you can receive the intervention and blessings of the most powerful guardian, Lord Hanuman.

Jupiter moving out

Jupiter's sojourn in Capricorn in a debilitated condition has been troublesome for the entire world.

Now Jupiter is moving out of his debilitation promising a better period for your wealth. Jupiter can bring you both relationship and wealth. On 1st May 2009, Jupiter will transit to Aquarius.

Jupiter's entry into Aquarius will shine a new light on the seemingly intractable problems of the past year or more, with a significant shift in consciousness

The change from Capricorn to airy Aquarius, the Water-Bearer, generating better chances for general success in life, but invoking a restless, nervous and erratic atmosphere in the collective, especially at a political, financial and religious level (these are the areas mainly governed by Jupiter).

Jupiter's naturally expansive character is not so well expressed in Aquarius, a sign which is traditionally ruled by Saturn, a frugal, cautious influence. Jupiter in Aquarius is, notwithstanding, innately humane, optimistic, original and philosophical. Fond of friends and company, Aquarius is interested in science, mysticism, literature and music. Jupiter here improves our chances for general success in life, but can be restless, nervous and erratic, with a lack of inclination for serious work. Jupiter in Aquarius can operate efficiently within traditional ideas and institutions, while at the same time remaining receptive to ideas and activities that on the surface may seem fantastic or bizarre.
