Saturn Transit:  Saturn is a slow-moving but powerful planet. Its change of sign shakes things up in life! All about Saturn - The Lord of Karma

Out of all the 9 planets, Saturn is the only planet honored with “Ishwar” status (name of Lord Shiva). According to Vedas, there is no other planet that can take away what the Great Saturn decides to give to you. You have multi-lifetimes of both good and bad deeds that are due to come to fruition in the future.

Red colour is assigned to Mars who rules the signs Aries & Scor pio. Mars is the planet for energy, force, courage, spirit, fire and passion. Planet Venus

The planet Venus controls finances and relationship. Venus is currently exalted in the sign of Pisces but in retrograde motion.

As per Vedic astrology, an exalted planet in retrograde behaves like a debilitated planet. The ancient Babylonians chose to organize their calendar around 7 days of the week, and each day corresponds to one of the seven "planets" visible to the naked eye.

Moon: The Moon represents the mind indicating an individual's thoughts, feelings, expressions etc. Moon is beneficial to those born in ascending moon cycle and disastrous to those born in descending moon sign. It is a node positioned at the meeting point of earth's trajectory around the Sun and the Moon's trajectory around the Earth. Rahu is believed to represent the head of the demon. When Rahu, Sun and Moon are in the same zodiacal longitude, solar eclipse takes place. Being a shudra graha, it rules over thieves, witches, magicians, venom and poison, snakes and thorny bushes, jails and isolated places, unhabitated places, hypnotists etc. As Rahu is not a real planet, it does not rule any zodiac sign.

Ketu: Ketu is an imaginary planet or a node that is positioned where the earth's trajectory around the Sun and the Moon's trajectory around the Earth meet. It is believed to represent the tail of demon. Both Rahu and Ketu are the parts of the same danava(demon) but are 180 degree apart. When Ketu, Sun and Moon lie in the same zodiacal longitude lunar eclipse takes place. Those ruled by Ketu, are secret adversaries and relates to people in pharmaceuticals industries, doctors and astrologers. Both imaginary nodes are the mysterious forces and show karmic and spiritual influences in the birth chart. Ketu also does not rule any zodiac sign since it is not a real planet.

Venus: Also known as Shukra, Venus governs beauty, wealth, romance, passion, music. The Zodiac and the Planets

The Zodiac ("Circle of Animals") is the name given to the band of the ecliptic encircling the earth. It is like a belt in space, about 15 degrees wide, across which the planets move and form their geometrical relationships. The Zodiac forms the stellar backdrop for the apparent path of the Sun, called the plane of the ecliptic. Astrologers divide the circle of the ecliptic into twelve parts, each subdivided into 30 degrees, making 360 degrees in all. The twelve divisions are called the Signs of the Zodiac. These signs are related (but not exactly identical) to the constellations (star groups) of the same name.
In astrology, the planets, sun, moon and other movable points (such as the moon's nodes) are still all described as "planets", the wanderers of the zodiac. From our point of view, the planets travel through the Zodiac in the course of their orbits around the Sun. Because they seem to be orbiting the Earth, the stars and planets rise in the east, move around the earth from east to west, then set in the west (due to the earth's rotation from west to east).
Astrologically, each sign symbolises certain specific characteristics in nature and, as the planets move through the signs, they stimulate (or perhaps simply reflect) reactions in both the individual and the collective here on Planet Earth. The Sun passes through one sign a month on its annual passage around the Zodiac.Other planets, because they actually orbit the Sun, seem to travel rather erratically through the Zodiac. This is really an illusion, generated by our changing earthly perspective with respect to the planets' placement in their orbits, but it does have some interesting effects. From time to time, all planets except the Sun and Moon slow to a halt ("station") and then begin to move backwards through the Zodiac. This phase is called retrograde motion, which has specific astrological consequences.

What does it mean when Astrologers say that a planet "rules" a sign?

Rulerships or dignities are a rather thorny subject among Astrologers.
What is meant by saying a planet "rules" a sign is that when positioned in that sign, a planet expresses its energy more naturally, with greater strength and expression.
Another term for planetary dignity is saying that a planet is at "home" in a sign, and that pretty much describes it.

Can planets influence people ?

If you ask me whether there is an effect from that red colour light on a person's life my answer is both "yes" and "no". No, because it is just a light. Yes, because it indicates a bad period to cross.
But if you attribute a godly character to the traffic light pole and starts worshipping it or think that there is a mystery in it. Then it is the lack of true knowledge and understanding.
That is why, about 2500 years ago Lord Buddha said "Kim Karrisatthi Taraka ?" What stars can do ?
It is not stars doing any thing to you. It is your own actions and the reactions of past actions (Karmas) are shaping your destiny. Your true savior is none but yourself as it is your duty to steer your life on the correct path.
