What are the Water signs in Astrology?:

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

Why are they called Water signs?:

There are four triplicities in Astrology that are grouped by their element. The other triplicities are earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo), fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) and air signs(Libra, Aquarius, Gemini). What are the general characteristics of the Water signs?:

Water signs are attuned to waves of emotion, and often seem to have a built-in sonar for reading a mood. This gives them a special sensitivity in relationships, knowing when to show warmth and when to hold back. At their best, they are a healing force that brings people together -- at their worst, they are psychic vampires, able to manipulate and drain the life force of those closest to them.Water signs are tuned into the many shades of meaning in relationships, and at times can absorb "vibes" from others. They have to work harder than other elements to maintain their personal boundaries.
How are the three Water signs different?:
Within their triplicity, the water signs each belong to another group known in astrology as qualities. For the water signs, Cancer is a Cardinal sign, Scorpio is a Fixed sign, and Pisces is a Mutable sign. In basic terms, Cancer leads and initiates, Scorpio goes deep with a fixed focus and Pisces is changeable, hard to pin down.
Water and Earth:
Water signs can soften Earth and take them into the deeper emotional layers of intimacy. This brings touchy and feely together for a satisfying physical relationship in romance. Earth can help Water with the practical challenges of life, and encourage them to bring their gifts into the real world through some tangible effort.Water and Fire:
Water and Fire can be one steamy combination under the right circumstances. Water can add emotional nuance to Fire's instinctual responses, and help Fire learn things like tact, compassion and how to nurture. Fire can blaze a trail for Water out of the swampy abyss of inaction. Their vitality and enthusiasm lifts Water up, so they can find their way. Like with any element, there's a danger here of mutual harm if things are not in balance. Fire can dry up Water, and make them feel brittle and undernourished. Water can smother Fire, put out the flames of inspiration, which usually sends them right out the door.Water and Air:
Water can help the Air sign make the deeper emotional connection. Water inspires Air to create a stronger personal base for what they're saying, by meaning what they say. Air signs help Water put their feelings into words, and understand the patterns at play in their lives. Air encourages the insights of Water, and can be a motivating force for creative expression.Water and Water:
Here is a pair that can dive together into the deep end, for better and worse. They'll understand the need of the other for "me" time to process all they've experienced. But two Water signs can easily merge and lose their sense of boundaries. This might not always be a bad thing, but at times it might feel like two people at the mercy of the emotional highs and lows of life. With balancing elements, this can be an incredibly close bond, to the point of being telepathic.
The Water Element in Astrology:
Those with planets in Water signs are often assessing a situation by its undercurrents. It can give them an air of being aloof or even shy at first, but they're the warmest of souls when you've won their trust. Going forward in a relationship or situation often means being sure of their emotional ground, a kind of decision-making process that is baffling to others. Their perceptions border on psychic, but these insights get clouded by the intensity of feelings, or are altered by the vivid imagination. The nuances of feeling experienced by Water signs can lead them into the arts. Some find release from their own personal dramas when they're able to express them as universal. As writers, musicians and actors, they help others make sense of the human experience. But this also happens in everyday life, since Water signs soften the edges of the mundane by padding it with emotional meaning.Water is a formless element on its own, and that's why those with this sign are so quickly shaped by their relationships to others. They need time alone to remember where they end and others begin. And to let what's been stirred up by life find its way to a quiet calm again. These are people who need people, but also need the restoring space of solitude.

Importance of Colours in Astrological Remedies

The visible light which is a mixture of seven colors gets exhibited in violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. These colors originate from the Sun and travel in different wave lengths with different energy intensities.
The visible light is the source of all life and it is responsible for all the environment of the earth which withstands all the plant and animal life including the life of human beings. The main source of energy is the Sun from where the colours originate in waves.

The importance of color is emphasized for astrological remedies.
The color of the Sun is a combination of orange and red. The Moon is pale white but it reflects the orange red rays of the Sun. Mars is of red color but it also reflects the yellow rays of the Sun. Mercury is of green color and reflects green rays. Jupiter is of orange-yellow color but reflects mainly blue rays of the spectrum. Venus is considered to be pure white but it also reflects indigo rays of the spectrum. Saturn is of black color and reflects violet rays of the Sun. The two shadow planets Rahu and Ketu have also been assigned colors in Vedic astrology. Rahu is considered to be black while Ketu is brown.
The Moon is pale white but it reflects the orange red rays of the Sun. Mars is of red color but it also reflects the yellow rays of the Sun. ... Saturn is of black color and reflects violet rays of the Sun. The two shadow planets Rahu and Ketu have also been assigned colors in Vedic astrology.

The role of nine planets which are said to govern the entire life of the native from birth till death and beyond.
Remedies for strengthening weak planets for bringing a balance in the life of an individual are prescribed by astrologers. May be a mantra, tantra, gem therapy, puja (worship), daan (charity) etc are related with colors.

Sun : Since the color of Sun is red, the strengthening of Sun in the horoscope of an individual should be done with red flowers or saffron-color items. The recommended stone is ruby which is also red. This color represents energy and power. It also shows vitality and creativity. However, excess of red is harmful.

Analysis of 11th House in Astrology

The eleventh house is associated with gain, i.e. gain of objectives and articles. At the same time it is associated with punishment.
11th house Stands for Gains (of money, knowledge), elder brother or sister, wealth, elevation of husband, longevity of mother, gain from father- in-law, friends , hopes , wishes, aspirations, success in undertakings, elections, litigation, speculation, discharge from hospital, ears, trade, society, community, recovery from illness, freedom from misery, ambitions, wishes, desires & their fulfillment, marriage, disease.

11th house is known as a badhaka for chara rashi (cardinal signs). The natural sign of badhaka is Aquarius being the natural eleventh sign in the zodiac, and its lord Saturn, tempts us, and punishes us. These badhaka signs and their lords cause obstacles in our life, which are seemingly impossible to rectify for the native. This is especially so if the planets are badly placed. If the planets are well placed and associated with the badhaka sign or lord, then the planets will instead work towards the removal of obstacles, and all the doors of opportunities will be opened to the native, although there will be some obstacles at first, though. As the badhaka acts like Rahu the good results could be reaped through travel, foreigners or foreign destinations.

A Promising 11th House in Birth Chart will confirm- Success in any endeavor, Support of friends, Financial gains, Smooth life, Unexpected gains

Planetary movement on Guru Purnima - July 3rd 2012

Guru is given a higher position then God, because of his qualities and qualification. Guru is called Brahma. Teacher gives a new birth to his students. Guru is true Mahadev because he forgives all flaws done by his disciple.
In India, Guru is given spiritual, religious and political significance. During the times of trouble, teachers have shown a new path to this nation. They don’t just a teacher but, they tell a person that how to come out from any kind of problem and danger.
Guru takes an individual to light from darkness. In simple words, he can be called the mass of knowledge.
Guru in India, is a person, who guides and protects us from all sorts of dangers and sins. Guru introduces us to a vast world of knowledge and dispels our ignorance and enlightens us.

"If God and Guru stand side by side, the first worship should be offered to Guru and then to God. It is because through the Guru we gain the ability to recognize and realize God."-- Kabir, 1440-1518, Indian mystic and poet

On Guru Purnima at home you can:

1) Chant Om Namasivaya out loudly or silently.
2) Pour water and milk over your sacred objects.
3) Clearly write out and ask for what you want (Ask and You Shall Receive)
4) Give to those less fortunate.
The Planets give an excellent diagram of the extraordinary happenings on Guru Purnima.

Jupiter, Ketu, Venus all in Taurus, forming Millionaire Yoga -- could even be called Millionaire without Greed. This is the gift to be free of financial constraints and have time for your personal evolution.
Jupiter influences Mars in Virgo, amplifying Mars Energy. The Overlord of Mars is Lord Muruga from Plaeides Star System. Showing Lord Muruga's presence closer to the Earth.
Mars in turn strongly influences the Moon with his 4th house aspect. Bringing more Goddess power, showing the presence of the 7 Mother Godesses.
This adds up to the Planets in support of the Guru's Grace.

At the time of the New Moon, the Moon rises or sets at the same time as the Sun. At Full Moon, the Moon rises at the same time the Sun sets, and the Moon sets at about the same time the Sun rises.

Recovery of Wealth on Akshaya Tritiyai April 24h 2012

April 24th of this year is an astrologically significant and important festival for wealth called Akshaya Tritiyai. It is the 3rd moon in the house of Aries.
Akshaya means "not decreasing". This is a time when you nurture and cultivate the concept of non-declining or non-decreasing wealth.
On this day, if you are able to actively engage in this moment and capture it in your own body mind and soul, it will be very useful to help you gather wealth and keep wealth. Taking the right action at the right time gives you maximum positive results.
The planetary combination on April 24th forms a wheel, which translates to “what was lost will come back to you".
Think of what was lost, 1) loans given and never returned, 2) poor investments, 3) wastage, 4) Money cheated from you, etc. Make sure you get the money back that you are due – the banker in heaven, Kubera has excellent records.
Lakshmi will be giving you the blessings of never decreasing wealth.
Blessings from our ancestors are very important for the protection and success in all activities. Provide your deceased family members with continuous happiness and well-being in the afterlife. Show your respect towards them and reinforce the unity of your family and lineage.

Akshaya means never diminishing. Many things happened  on this day: Draupadi was given Akshaya Patra (bowl) by Krishna which supplied unlimited food; Kubera, treasurer of gods, prayed to Lakshmi, goddess of wealth, to fill his treasury; Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Vishnu, was born; Satya yuga ended and Treta yuga began; the Ganga descended from Heaven; Ved Vyasa and Ganesha began writing the epic Mahabharata; and Sudama, the poor friend of Krishna, came to Dwarka to ask for help. In return for a handful of beaten rice, Krishna gave immense wealth to Sudama. Gates of the Badrinarayana temple open on this day. Construction of chariots for the Jagannath rath yatra at Puri commences.  Jains observe fast and break it with sugarcane juice as king-turned-monk Rishabhdeva was offered sugarcane juice after an year-long fast. So the belief is that worshipping Lakshmi-Kubera, buying gold and silver ornaments, investing money in shares and real estate, buying household things, ploughing land, writing new account books – will all bring prosperity.

Navratri 2011 & Astrology

During the Navratra festival Mother, as the Universal Energy is worshipped. Navratra literally means '9 nights'.
These nine days are astrologically very powerful for Spiritual upliftment.
During these days and nights, prayers are offered to 'Mother' who is the Manifestation of the Absolute Energy that pervades the Universe. As 'Durga' sitting on a Lion, she is a Manifestation of 'Shakti' or the Primordial Energy.
The Power to breathe, walk, digest etc, comes from Ma Durga. As Laxmi She is abundance. Not only material, but of Air, Land, Space etc. The fact that you have understood what I have written so far is due to the Grace of Ma Saraswati' She is the 'OM', from where all sound emanates.
'Ma' is the 'Garbha' (Womb) from where the Universe manifests. A fortnight before Durga Puja, offerings (Tarpan) are made to ancestors. This continues till Mahalaya. Before one proceeds on the Spiritual Path, the offerings are probably a form of gratitude to the ancestors as our fathers are responsible for our achieving a human body. The next 'worship' is towards Mother Nature.
On the 1st day of the Puja (mahashasti) one prays to the abode of 'Mother' which is the wood apple tree. On the 2nd day of the puja, navaptrika (nine leaves) are offered. The word 'Garba' stems from 'Garbha' and symbolizes the 'Dance of Creation'
First 3 Nights - Durga
The first 3 days of 'Navratra' are dedicated to 'Ma Kali' to annihilate the enemies within. She destroys all of our impurities, vices, defects and gains us purity and perfection.
Middle 3 Nights - Lakshmi
The next 3 days are dedicated to 'Ma Laxmi'. She destroys the demon of poverty and grant inexhaustible wealth and abundance.
Final 3 Nights - Saraswati
The last 3 days are dedicated to Ma Saraswati. She destroys the demon of ignorance and grants us knowledge and divine wisdom.
On the 10th day a Bonfire is lit to burn the Self arrogating Ego. The 10th night, or Vijaya Dasami (10th Moon) is the consolidation of the energies of fierce fighting and is celebrated with an elaborate Chandi Fire Ritual/Homa that starts in the evening and ends in the morning of the next day. Whether we pray to Ma or not, she thinks of us all the time. She holds us in our arms when dejected, gives us various gifts from time to time, but admonishes us when we cross our line.

Elements In Astrology And Their Relation With Sun Signs

Elements in astrology are the basic entities that are primarily used for interpreting the character of a person. There are four elements and these are denoted as fire, air, water, and earth. In simple terms, each element represents a particular stream of personality and character. Each of these elements encompasses three different sun signs, based on the characteristics of people on each of these elements. The name of the elements is indicative of the character traits of people belonging to each group. In conventional astrology, a person is assigned a particular element based on his or her date of birth. Modern astrological thinking considers this too simplistic. It has been often said nowadays that all the four elements are present in a person in varying degrees.

Fire: There Is Fire In The Belly
The element fire is associated with the sun signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. People who come under this category are born go-getters and utterly dominant. When they see success, they waltz past others to grab it by the horns. They are very efficient and they know that too. Their confidence stems from the urge to be the center of all activities surrounding them. They can be surely called the leaders of men. One problem they cause is that they can be so self-centered and opaque to the sensitivities of others that people surrounding them may feel the heat. They are not the ones to be succumbed to emotions. They are mostly compatible with those with the air element.
Air: There Are Ideas In The Air
The element air is associated with Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. People who belong to this element are generally creative and communicative. While they are not as assertive and dominant as those with the fire element, they can be extremely spontaneous and flexible. Usually they are outgoing people who can be comfortable with almost all types of personalities. They normally are a steady source of words, especially when they are talking. They can be very objective, even to the degree of being impractical. Also, they generally show scant respect for emotions.
Water: Hot And Cold
The element water is associated with Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. They are creative and intuitive. Also, these people are introvert and highly emotional. They are sensitive to the feelings of others and are easily moved by the emotions. They can be excellent artists who often find a way to communicate the inner demons and feelings through art. On the other hand, they can be extremely moody. If things go wrong, it is solitude that they embrace. They are most compatible with people belonging to the element earth and least with those in fire.
Earth: Immovable Objects
The element earth is associated with Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. People who come under this category are hard workers and traditionalists. They have incredible focus and concentration for doing something. If your life depends on something, then people in this category are most likely to do the job for you. But they do something only if they are convinced of the need to do it. Unlike the people under the fire and the air elements, they are not entirely comfortable hogging the limelight.

Is Ophiuchus the 13th Astrology Sign?

Are You ‘Not’ Who You Really ‘Are’—has your Zodiac Sign changed?
There is news across the air that there is a new 13th Zodiac Sign Ophiuchus (pronounced as Oh-fee-YOU-cuss) and so, the Zodiac you belonged to, is no truer! You may be wondering about the fact that you went to bed last night as an Aquarian and woke up as a Capricorn.
Don’t worry now, there’s good news from authenticated astrologers and it has something to do with your personal details. Read below to know more…
What’s an Ophiuchus?
Ophiuchus is a constellation in the western sky culture. The image depicts a “snake bearer”. The snake itself is actually depicted in a neighboring constellation called Serpens. Ophiuchus is just the human silhouette part of the image
“Ophiuchus has nothing to do with Astrology,” say experts. It’s not an Astrology issue. It has to do with the stars — it’s not a sign, it’s a constellation. There are four seasons each with a beginning, middle and end. That makes 12 zodiac signs, and there’s no such thing as a 13th astrological sign.”
How did this myth on “13th Astrology Sign Ophiuchus” begin?
It began when astronomy professor Parke Kunkle of Minneapolis Community and Technical College told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune about the precession of stars over time. He said “Two thousand years ago the Sun was ‘in’ whatever it was in. Now it’s about a whole constellation off from that.” Kunkle’s quote went viral and was picked up by FOX News and other media outlets because people mistakenly assume that Astrology is based on constellations– But that’s not true.
Astrology is based on the four seasons, not on constellations — and the seasons don’t change. There is no 13th astrological sign.
It means NOTHING for you! Your zodiac sign hasn’t changed.

VEDIC ASTROLOGY AN INTRODUCTION

Astrology is as old as Vedas themselves. The Vedas which are the sacred Hindu scriptures, embody eternal knowledge. Strict moral and spiritual practices along with the deep study are prerequisities to understand the essence of Vedas. To the uninitiated, the Vedas might appear as nothing more than ritualistic oblations to air, water and thunder etc. Deep truths, however begin to unfold to the true seeker as his search goes on.

In time of yore, sincere seekers of truth and knowledge in India used to spend years and years at the feet of their 'gurus', learning the meaning hidden in Vedas. In order to decipher what lies concealed in Vedas, a study of certain subjects is considered a prerequisite. These subjects are called the 'Vedangas' or the body organs of the Vedas. There are six such vedangas. They are :
(A) Shiksha : Which deals with the understanding of the Vedic 'Varanas', 'Swaras' and Mantras, and thus with the technique of correct pronunciation.
(B) Chhanda : Dealing with the appropriate lyrical utterance of the Vedic 'Suktas'.
(C) Vyakarana : Expouding the grammatical aspects of the language.
(D) Nirukta : Which explains the difficult words, 'padas' and 'mantras'.
(E) Kalpa : Dealing with the understanding of Sutras and the use of Mantras, hence concerned with the ritualistic aspects of the Vedas.
(F) Jyotisha or Astrology : Of the body called the Vedas, astrology represents the 'eyes' with its capacity to see the past, the present and the future. Astrology is considered as the most important of the Vedangas.

Can Conch Shells change your life?

In India, the conch shell is revered and used for divine purposes.

Conch Shells promote, preserve your truth and integrity. Conch Shell abhishekams have been practised for many centuries to obtain incredible secretive material and spiritual blessings.

If your home or shrine uses Conch Shells for prayer, the entire area is purified and becomes a place of happiness, divinity and incredible prosperity.

Naga Chaturthi and Panchami.

On July 25th and 26th (as per Indian Almanac) You will have the limited opportunity to remedy Rahu and Ketu afflictions. These days are highly sensitive and are referred to as Naga Chaturthi and Panchami.
Rahu and Ketu are the mysterious shadow planets that represent the North and South nodes of the Moon. The nodes are the points of intersection of the Earths course around the Sun with the Moons course around the Earth.
Often, Rahus influence is illusionary, dissolving and disintegrating. It is also an eccentric, creative, disruptive and revolutionary force. Ketus influence is regarded as psychic, detaching, penetrating, manipulative and catastrophic.
Rahu and Ketu together are behind most psychological disorders, attraction to the dark side of life, incurable diseases, possession by negative entities and sudden negative events. They can create considerable current lifetime damages.
If you have Kala Sarpa Yoga, or are in a Rahu or Ketu major /minor period this is an essential time for you to remedy the malefic effects of these planets.
If your birth star is one of Ashwini, Arudra, Pushya, Magha, Swati, Mula, Uttarashada and Satabhisha, then there is no better time to appease Rahu and Ketu right here.
Per myth, Rahu and Ketu were originally one being. Lord Vishnu cut Rahu-Ketu into two halves when he discovered them guised as a God in order to steal some immortal elixir. Rahu being the head is the significator of intelligence. It is not mundane knowledge, but the higher intuitive intelligence. Whereas Rahu represents wisdom and knowledge, Ketu represents liberation which makes Rahu and Ketu the most influential hidden forces in human life. They are not easy to understand as their influences are always off-stage.

Freedom, Prosperity and Happiness

Goddess energy or Shakti is the ever present dynamic force which activates this world. It is immanent in every being and the Universe. Goddesses are revered and celebrated so that they bless us with both material and spiritual abundance. Goddess worship primarily happens on Fridays of every week, which is also the day for planet Venus.
The month of Aadi( July to August), is considered very special for Goddesses.
These Fridays in Aadi are called 'Aadi Velli', where 'Aadi' is the Vedic month (Mid July - Mid Aug) and 'Velli' in Tamil refers to Friday. This year there are five auspicious Fridays, for all those who want to establish a special bond with Goddesses.
The Goddess stays in the form or a rock or statue that retains her energy. It is important to identify those shrines and establish your connection with your Goddess.
The whole world is under the influence of Icha Shakti, Kriya Shakti and Jnana Shakti.
Icha Shakti is the will power, the power of desire or motivation which relates to the mind.
Kriya Shakti is the power of action, the ability to act for the fulfillment of the desire that relates to physical body.
Jnana Shakti represents the power of knowledge, the capacity to know and recognize, which relates to the soul.
It is incredibly powerful to worship and offer prayers in these Shakti temples on Goddess Fridays.
