Chanting mantras

We all know that if chanted regularly, mantras create a protective aura around us. But did you know that when you chant, focussing on specific chakras between the eyebrows, the pituitary gland in the brain gets activated, and releases certain juices. These juices flow into every pore of the body, creating an aura around it. That explains the radiance on some people's faces! If done regularly, over a long period, mantras can heal chronic ailments too. However, the magic can't be achieved by any word chanted repeatedly with positive feeling. The body has seven chakras and these get activated through particular sounds. The associated sounds, chants and mantras have been arrived at after a lot of research by ancient sages. For instance, the word 'Om' resonates through every part of the body creating a positive effect.Different sounds have different effects on human psyche. If a soft sound of wind rustling through leaves soothes our nerves, the musical note of running stream enchants our heart, thunders may cause awe and fear.
The sacred utterances or chanting of Sanskrit Mantras provide us with the power to attain our goals and lift ourselves from the ordinary to the higher level of consciousness. They give us the power to cure diseases; ward off evils; gain wealth; acquire supernatural powers; worship a deity for exalted communion and for attaining blissful state and attain liberation.

Chinese Astrology

The purpose of Chinese astrology is direct - to define 'cures' for unfortunate stars by correcting imbalances in the natal chart. Thus, systems like Feng-Shui use the astrological chart as a starting point to prescribe ways to bring balance into one's life. The concept of balance and of Yin and Yang is one that is vital to every aspect of Chinese astrology. Each animal, each element and each year is either Yin (soft) or Yang (hard). Every person born in a particular year doesn't share the exact same fate and personality. To refine predictions, Chinese astrology uses a complex system of twelve Palaces, similar to the twelve astrological Houses in Western astrology. Zi Wei Dou Shu is used to create a person's entire astrological chart by assigning each of the 'stars' to a Palace. It is the arrangement of these Palaces and stars that determine the influences that a person must affect in order to affect his fate.
Chinese astrology is based on cycles of 60 years. Each year is assigned both one of the 12 animals and one of the five elements - wood, water, air, earth and metal - and so the years are more properly defined as the Year of the Water Tiger, The Year of the Earth Pig and so on - sixty in all

Numerology: The Power of One

The number One is ruled by the Sun. The number One brings a bright, radiant energy, with a strong desire to develop the self and become a leader. Those with this number are courageous, original, innovative, independent, and capable of taking initiative. Those with the number One as their number aspire towards greatness, they never think small in terms of their goals or dreams. They may have some interest in psychic sciences, however the number One creates a more active than contemplative nature. Those with One are gifted with regal qualities and should allow themselves to grow in refinement, both spiritually and physically. Patience and prudence need to be developed so people will respect them rather than viewing them as rash and ambitious. They should guard against sudden anger and being overly active. Their great inner fire, brought by the number One, should be focused for the good of all and their passions should be used to help improve life for others in some way. They will do well by being generous in acknowledging the contributions of others as this will prevent aloofness and aloneness. They will enjoy staying open to new ideas and can help teach them to others. A good leader sets a positive example and that is what a person with this number is here to do - without becoming self-important. Meditation benefits those with One to help them stay inspired and renewed, which is essential to their spirit.

PLANETARY WORSHIP

Planets may be worshipped via fire ceremonies, by wearing appropriate gemstones or clothing, by offerings items (incense, flowers, coconuts, light…), or by reciting/listening to the mantra for the planet. An offering to a specific planet helps to increase the qualities of that planet in your life. For example, a pooja for the Sun can invoke positive influence in aspects such as public recognition, power, personal appearance... This respectful, gracious act gains favour from the planet and invokes its blessing. Reciting planetary mantras can increase the positive energy of a planet, neutralize any negative influence, and enable you to connect to the planet's energy. All of the following helps alleviate karma and act as an agent for peace.
Each Planet has a specific day and Mantra assigned to it :
Sun - Sunday - Om Suryaya Namaha
Moon - Monday - Om Chandraya Namaha
Mars - Tuesday - Om Mangalaya Namaha
Mercury - Wednesday - Om Budhaya Namaha
Jupiter - Thursday - Om Gurave Namaha
Venus - Friday - Om Shukraya Namaha

Miracles from Vishnu

The final day to receive money miracles from Vishnu falls on Nov 15, 2008 (Sunday). This day is Vishnupati and there are four of them every year and occurs once in three months. Since each vedic year repeats once in 60 years, each of these Vishnupati periods occurs once only in 60 years. In other words, if you miss celebrating the upcoming Vishnupati of this year, you'll have to wait 60 years for the next one! Hence seize the moment and celebrate each Vishnupati in accordance with Siddha procedures. Celebrate Vishnupati wholeheartedly as this is a great opportunity to improve your finances, beauty and your consciousness for greater things in life like spirituality.
During Vishnupati, Vishnu answers your prayers by providing unlimited wealth, beauty and a great spiritual lift. It's a very special time period for both material and spiritual progress. Missing Vishnupati is like missing an opportunity in the material and spiritual world. It's a time when blessings are available in abunadnce. Though all days are important for a spiritual person, there are certain days that are imbued with more spiritual potency. Prayers done on these days give manifold results and helps you to exhaust your karma faster.
For those who feel inferior because of their looks can expect great changes by observing Visnhupati. Observance of this Vishnupati will ensure that young men and women who are troubled with these problems get rid of their feelings of inferiority by undergoing a spiritual transformation; they will realize that it's because of their past karma that they are facing their current problems. This enlightened outlook will make them a lot happier and content. Moreover, this Vishnupati will ensure their welfare in life too.
The Siddhas say that the food offerings to Maha Vishnu during Vishnupati should be black or blackish blue in color, once again to remember his having destroyed the dark forces of evil. For example, dishes made using grapes, dates, beets, figs. These dishes are offered to Sri Maha Vishnu, and then distributed to the poor and the needy.

Sankata Chaturthi

Man gets his life through his Mother's umbilical chord and hence that area is considered to be the life provider for human beings. According to Siddhas, the merger of true light and knowledge resulting from the Union of the lowest chakra or Muladhara chakra and the highest Sahasrara chakra manifests a child of true knowledge and divine intelligence near the umbilical area. This is Lord Ganesha and He is present in every human being.
Lord Ganesha is also referred to as 'Mudar Kadavul'. This literally means he is the 'First God' and given to understand that He is the one who gives a promising start to all ventures be it a new business, buying or selling residence or even opening a bank account. It is an unspoken truth in India that without Ganesha it is difficult to have a smooth start to ventures. He is worshipped widely across many religions and is the only God to have that status.
Lord Ganesha has special days every month where he destroys obstacles for his devotees and ensures their well being. This day is called 'Sankata Chaturthi' or 'Obstacle removing 4th waxing moon'. The energies on that day are conducive for elimination of evil eye and delays to ventures. As per vedic mythology, even the churning of the milky ocean by Devas and Asuras produced only a deadly poison as they forgot to worship Ganesha before they started to churn the ocean. It is said that without his blessings even Siva gets delayed.
According to our Astrologers, this Nov 16 is a special obstacle removing day as it falls on a 'Kari Naal' or 'Black day'. The 'Black Day' is a day for solemn thinking about accumulated karmas and their neutralization. These are karmas resulting from wrong deeds that were committed knowingly. Again this falling on a Sunday which is traditionally considered to be a great day for remedies makes it doubly special.
